Finally I laid my eyes on this movie. I wasn't really anticipating something special, except, of course, Timur Bekmambetov' favorite effects (which we all love from the Matrix times:)) I love slowmo, blame me.
So, I just had a great time. Because I got everything I wanted and even more. Beautiful picture. Everything was beautiful there. Fighting was awesome, train was awesome, and horses, that was beyond imagination. Every effect there is a masterpiece by itself, just cut it out and make a wallpaper))
And the story was pretty nice too.
3D was excellent. That's all I can say. I'm a bit picky about 3D and I even try to avoid it if possible, but here was nothing to cavil.
And one last thing that fascinated me, not a big thing but really characteristic, was the effect of vampires eyes. Not some stupid contacts, dull and plastic, not the unnatural sgi glitter or shadowing. It was something much more alive, if it's appropriate to define bloodsuckers with such a word.
Ah, and the Linkin Park' beautiful song in the ending. "Powerless" is great!
